Omer of Spiritual Manna
After the Lord rescued the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, they spent 40 years in the wilderness where God provided food for them each day. This daily food God actually ‘rained down from heaven’ for His people. There was enough bread (manna) for each person for each day!
In Exodus chapter 16 we read:
15 When the Israelites saw it, they said to each other, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. Moses said to them, “It is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. 16 This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Everyone is to gather as much as they need. Take an omer for each person you have in your tent.”
An omer is one-tenth of an ephah which was a system of measurement common at that time.
In a similar way, as we ‘hunger’ for God’s words and teachings, God provides us with His spiritual manna in different ways and through different servants.
We thank God for His feeding through our pastor James Morgan as well as other gifted teachers within our church. Furthermore, in His grace, He also blesses us with teachers from around the world (like Ruth Pardon, Ian Campbell, David and Joanne Bonnet, Sylvain Freymond, Gordon Dalbey and many others).
We gladly take our Omers of Spiritual Manna and we praise the Lord for every single one of them. They sustain us and enable us to grow stronger in our relationship with God and each other!!!
We are delighted to be able to share these ‘Omers of Manna’ with you, and we pray that they will bless you in the same way that they have blessed us.
As you share in these teachings may you know how much our Almighty God loves you. Amen!
